MoBu's fundamental goal is to research dance through one's self and lifetime experience of movement. MoBu's character means "true dance" in Japanese and is a contemporary dance style. Takami has studied many dance styles such as modern, ballet, Jazz, improvisation, and butoh dance (Japanese avant-garde dance style developed in 1950 to the present) over several decades in Japan, NYC, Washington DC and San Francisco.
MoBu Dance group was founded in 1998 with the mission to produce dance that experiments with other art disciplines in order to inspire the creation of unique pieces that synthesize the cultural concepts of time, space and imagery.
